Armel Arcadio is an experienced Occupational Therapist at The Developing Child Centre (TDCC), bringing over 17 years of professional experience supporting children and young adults with a wide range of developmental, sensory, cognitive, and functional needs. She is dedicated to helping children build confidence, independence, and meaningful participation across home, school, and community environments.
Armel holds a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Emilio Aguinaldo College, Philippines, where she completed her academic training from 2000 to 2005. Her education provided a strong foundation in pediatric development, functional participation, and evidence-based occupational therapy practice, which she has continuously strengthened through extensive clinical and school-based experience.
Throughout her career in the UAE, Armel has worked across pediatric clinics, schools, early intervention, and rehabilitation settings, delivering both individual and group occupational therapy services. She provides comprehensive occupational therapy assessments, develops individualized treatment plans, and implements structured, developmentally appropriate intervention programs tailored to each child’s strengths and needs. Her areas of practice include sensory processing and regulation, fine and gross motor development, visual-motor and perceptual skills, handwriting readiness, functional daily living skills, school readiness, attention skills, and behavioral regulation, using evidence-based and play-centered approaches.
A strong advocate of family-centered care, Armel works collaboratively with parents, caregivers, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure therapy goals are meaningful and that progress carries over into daily routines and learning environments. She places high value on parent education and partnership, empowering families to support their child’s development beyond therapy sessions.
