Emma Ross is a dedicated professional with over a decade of experience supporting children of all abilities through individualized educational strategies and therapeutic interventions. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome and a Bachelor’s degree in Education and Social Services from Strathclyde University. Complementing her academic qualifications, Emma has completed extensive certifications, including the British Dyslexia Association Level 3, Orton-Gillingham Basic Language Course, SCERTS, ADOS2, and Arrowsmith Executive Training, equipping her with advanced skills in supporting neurodiverse learners.
Emma’s career spans roles as a Specialist Practitioner, Shadow Teacher, and Learning Support Assistant, where she honed her expertise in adapting curricula, promoting positive behavior strategies, and developing executive function skills in children. Her work with Cogx and as an Arrowsmith Assessor has deepened her knowledge of cognitive training and neuroplasticity, focusing on improving attention, memory, and reasoning skills in students.
Her experience includes working with children with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, dyslexia, auditory processing challenges, and other developmental delays. Emma excels at creating inclusive learning environments by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including educational psychologists, therapists, and families, ensuring holistic support tailored to each child’s unique needs.
At The Developing Child Centre, Emma leverages her rich experience and training to lead the Arrowsmith Program, a brain-based approach designed to strengthen cognitive functions essential for learning. She is passionate about empowering children to overcome challenges, fostering independence, and nurturing their academic, social, and emotional growth.
