Social, Emotional & Behavioral Assessments
These Assessments are commonly used to help guide a child’s or an adolescent’s intervention and/or uncover the underlying function of challenging behaviors. At TDCC we believe that all behavior has meaning. We work closely with those involved with your child to identify potential triggers and factors that may be exacerbating certain behaviors. We also work closely with you and your child to explore strategies for successful behavioral modification that sit in line with your family strengths and values and can incorporate tailored behavioral management plans into the child counselling support framework.
This type of assessment is recommended when a child or adolescent has problems with anxiety, anger, sadness, or has difficulty interacting with peers, teachers, or parents. They open a window into a child’s inner world and often serve as a starting point for therapy.
Through observation, interviews and questionnaires, the psychologist together with the client formulates a program of treatment according to the client’s needs.
Psychologists monitor the client’s progress on a regular basis to ensure that their needs are met by the course of action, and to adjust it if necessary.
We assess and support children and adolescents with:
- Physical challenges (such Cerebral Palsy)
- Neurological & Behavioral Challenges (ADHD, OCD and Autism)
- Anger Management
- Personal and/or Family Relationship Problems
- Stress Management
- Emotional Self-Regulation
