Vilahashini Manivannan

Speech and Language Pathologist

Vilahashini Manivannan holds a Master’s and a Bachelor’s in Science, Audiology, and Speech-Language Pathology. Both degrees were awarded in 2018 and 2016, respectively, from the Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research in India.

Vilahashini is a Speech-Language Pathologist and Audiologist with a solid academic background. She has successfully completed all required clinical experiences as well as internship and outreach programs as an extension of her academic training.

Her experience includes working with children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, cerebral palsy, speech sound disorders, stuttering, voice disorders, feeding difficulties, and hearing impairment.

Prior to working in Dubai, she worked in India as a Speech-Language Therapist with various interdisciplinary teams conducting assessments, implementing evidence-based treatment programs, and counseling parents on using strategies to foster meaningful interactions with their children.

Vilahashini is certified in the More Than Words  / The Hanen program for parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder or Social Communication Difficulties. The program is specifically for parents of children ages 5 and under on the autism spectrum and with other social communication difficulties. Addressing the unique needs of these children, the program provides parents with the tools, strategies, and support they need to help their children reach their full communication potential.

Vilahashini loves to be updated on the latest evidence-based approaches. She recently earned certification in the Social Communication (SC), Emotional Regulation (ER) and Transactional Support (TS) or SCERTS Model 1 training. She also brings in her valuable experiences of working in organizations where CommDEALL (Communication Developmental Eclectic Approach to Language) and also Alternative and Augmentative Communication (PECS, communication boards, AAC applications) were implemented for children with Autism

She maintains a working relationship with rapport in TDDC and she is a valuable part of our core team of experts, collectively dedicated to life-changing treatment and support for each of the children in our care. Vilahashini finds many things as rewarding as working with every family and seeing all the children make progress is a huge achievement to her.
