Sasha Marie Diosay

Sasha Marie Diosay has been a Special Education Needs and Inclusion Teacher for nine years in the Philippines and across the UAE. Sasha holds a Diploma in Bachelor of Elementary Education Major in Special Education from Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan in 2013 and is a Licensed Professional Teacher in the Philippines. Her extensive background in special education paved her way to working as a Senior Special Educator in one of the Down Syndrome centres in Dubai before joining TDCC.

Sasha is specially interested in working with children with down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, behavioural and learning difficulties. She has a vast range of experience in her role as a SEN teacher and she is competent in assessing students and tracking their progress and goals. She helps to determine children’s educational needs and aims to promote independent learning. At TDCC, Sasha collaborates with specialists, parents, therapists, supervisors, and caregivers to ensure positive progress for every child.

Sasha is a believer of continuing professional development and growth. This is to empower herself, keep abreast of new innovations and frameworks and to guide her practice on how to best understand and identify best behavioural approaches in supporting children and individual learners with autism and social-emotional learning differences. She has attended seminars and training courses such as the Learning Support Teacher/Assistant Licensing Course from The British University in Dubai, The Intensive Early Intervention & School Readiness Programme by Dr. Donia Fahim, SCERTS 1, 2 & 3, 20hrs ABA Foundation Training, and ICDL-DIR101 Floortime.

Sasha has successfully developed an Inclusion Program that integrated children with learning needs and differences into the mainstream environment. She is passionate and very determined in upholding and using evidence-based interventions in her classroom and taking into consideration that every child receives support with regards to their learning space, challenges, and specific needs. Sasha builds relationships with her students and develops great rapport with families, she loves every learning interaction with her students. Seeing her students achieve developmental milestones is a huge achievement for Sasha.
