Aalia Thobani is a Senior Speech-Language Pathologist and a Learning Development Specialist. Her professional career has seen her amass a decade of international experience in the USA, and local UAE experience, in multiple settings and across a variety of age groups and diagnoses.
She spent two and a half years of her professional life in the USA at Sweeney Augustin & Associates, Illinios, a clinic specialized in working with children on the autism spectrum. Prior to joining TDCC, Aalia managed her own successful practice at the Infinity Polyclinic in Dubai. Aalia received a dual Masters in Speech-Language Pathology and Learning Disabilities from Northwestern University of Evanston, Illinois. She is certified in many programs to enhance speech, language, and learning outcomes, including: PROMPT, SCERTS, Hanen It Takes Two to Talk, Hanen More Than Words, LindaMood Bell’s Visualizing and Verbalizing, Orton Gillingham Levels 1,2, 3, Talk Tools Level 1, DIR Floortime, The Lidcombe Program, Makaton, Lois Heymann’s Auditory-Language Processing Approach.
Aalia passionately believes in an all-inclusive, all-round education for each child. She is up-to-date on recent research and intelligence and uses the latest technologies to help develop the most relevant and effective therapies. Aalia is particularly interested in brain research and ways of changing brain patterns to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in helping combat speech challenges and learning disabilities.
