Nurturing Literacy: Empowering Children to Read and Write with Joy

TDCC proudly presents the fourth session in our six-part webinar series in collaboration with the Arrowsmith Program. Titled “Nurturing Literacy: Empowering Children to Read and Write with Joy,” this engaging webinar is designed for parents, educators, and professionals who want to better understand the connection between brain development and literacy skills.

In this session, participants will explore how reading and writing abilities are shaped by cognitive processes, and gain practical strategies to identify and address challenges that may hinder a child’s ability to thrive in literacy. This webinar aims to inspire a renewed joy for learning by fostering confidence and nurturing a love for reading and writing in children.

Learning Objectives

1. Gain insights into how brain processes influence reading and writing skills in children, and how these can be nurtured to build a strong literacy foundation.

2. Learn how to recognize challenges such as dyslexia, attention difficulties, or other obstacles to literacy, and discover effective strategies to address them.

3. Explore the transformative impact of improved literacy on a child’s self-esteem, confidence, and overall academic success.

This free webinar is part of TDCC’s ongoing commitment to empowering families and educators with the knowledge and tools needed to support children in their learning journeys.
