Overview:

Test anxiety can be a common problem for children of all ages, particularly during high-stakes testing periods. The aim of this webinar is to help parents, guardians, and teachers understand the difference between stress and anxiety, identify the causes of test anxiety in children, and provide practical strategies to support children in coping with test anxiety. The webinar will also cover effective ways for test preparation, so that children can feel more confident and prepared for their exams.

Objectives:

1. Define the difference between stress and anxiety: Participants will learn how to distinguish between stress and anxiety, the causes of each, and the impact on children’s academic performance.

2. Identify the causes of test anxiety in children: Participants will learn about the common causes of test anxiety in children, such as fear of failure, perfectionism, lack of preparation, and how to recognize the symptoms of test anxiety.

3. Provide practical strategies to support children in coping with test anxiety: Participants will learn practical strategies that can be used to help children manage test anxiety, such as relaxation techniques, positive self-talk, and cognitive-behavioral therapy.

4. Share effective ways for test preparation: Participants will learn about effective ways for test preparation, such as creating a study plan, setting realistic goals, and practicing test-taking strategies.

By the end of this webinar, participants will have a better understanding of the causes of test anxiety in children, how to recognize the symptoms, and practical strategies to support children in coping with test anxiety. Participants will also have access to effective ways for test preparation, which will help children feel more confident and prepared for their exams.

About the Speaker:

Managing Test Anxiety in Children: De-stress the Test! 4Rama Kanj Educational Psychologist, who has dedicated her career to supporting and advocating for children’s education and mental health. With over five years of post-graduate work experience, Rama has become a leading expert in her field.

Rama holds a Master of Arts in Education with specialisation in Educational Psychology, as well as a Diplomate of the American Board of School Neuropsychology. Currently, she is a Doctoral Researcher in Psychology at the University of Reading in the UK.  Rama is also a certified ADOS2 provider.
