Jennifer Cockrell holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Exeter, UK in 2005, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Teaching of Specific Learning Difficulties SpLD/Dyslexia from Middlesex University UK in 2022, and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Primary Education from the Nottingham University, UK in 2016. She also holds a Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (CELTA) from Zayed University, Dubai in 2016 and is a Qualified Assessor of Specific Learning Difficulties SpLP/Dyslexia with a level 7 specialist teacher/assessor qualification in dyslexia/SpLD, Dyslexia Action accredited by Middlesex University, UK.

Jennifer is a highly qualified and experienced dyslexia specialist with a passion for helping children with learning difficulties reach their full potential. With 17 years of extensive work experience in both private and school settings, Jennifer has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the field of dyslexia and specific learning difficulties.

Jennifer’s work experience includes positions as dyslexia specialist, learning support teacher, class teacher, Head of Year, SENco, and Key Stage 1 Maths coordinator. She has worked with children with a range of learning difficulties including dyslexia, sensory processing disorder, ADHD, and hearing impairments both in private and school settings in the UK, Hong Kong and across the UAE.

Jennifer holds an Assessment Practicing Certificate (APC) in the UK, making her a qualified and trusted professional in her field. Jennifer is an active member of the Dyslexia Guild (UK) and an Associate Member of the British Dyslexia Association (AMBDA). She is skilled in using evidence-based practices, including the Woodcock Johnson IV, WIAT III, CTOPP2, and TOMAL 2 assessments. Her expertise includes implementation of British Curriculum EYFS, inclusive education, special needs education, classroom management, and supporting parents. 

At TDCC, Jennifer works in close collaboration with educators, therapists, psychologists and parents in achieving specific goals of every child.  She’s a keen advocate of inclusive education for all, Jennifer believes in celebrating the successes and achievements of every child’s learning journey by being a supportive and nurturing educator. Her positive outlook enables her to foster lasting relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
