Occupational Therapist

Aakansha Kandhelwal received her graduate study in Master of Occupational Therapy with Specialty in Musculoskeletal and graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, both from Seth G.S. Medical College & K.E.M.H., India. She is a licensed Occupational Therapist specializing in Musculoskeletal with over 5 years of extensive experience in handling children with barriers that affect their sensory, physical, emotional, and social needs.

Aakansha is certified in the COTE-WFOT with the following courses Wheelchair Management and Physical Transfers; Drivers Rehabilitation; Dysphagia Management; Orthotic, Prosthetics, Adaptive devices; and Physical Agent Modalities. She also has attended the training in Kinesio Taping Level 1-4 and Pilates Level 1.

Aakansha has expertise in children with various needs such as cerebral palsy, ADHD, autism, learning difficulties, and sensory processing disorder. She applies her therapeutic and practical knowledge from Sensory Integration and NDT approaches. She uses everyday activities including play, exercises, and other therapies to help children overcome their barriers and improve their performance in different settings (e.g. educational, and social settings).

Aakansa brings her valuable experience to TDDC as part of our team of experts who are collectively dedicated to the provision of life-changing treatment and support for each of the children in our care.

Children respond wonderfully to her gentle yet determined nature, and they quickly begin to learn positive behaviours and social skills which allow them to enjoy their sense of accomplishment. “I am determined to help children live a better quality of life,” she says.
